Moving the Body with Intention and Awareness

Océane McCord is an Ojai-based Pilates teacher, movement educator, professional dancer and choreographer, and creator of the Zero State Method and Embodiment Liberation.

With more than two decades of experience in dance, Pilates, somatic movement, and creative practice, her teaching brings together anatomical precision with a deep curiosity about the intelligence of the body.

In her Pilates practice, Océane works with clients of all ages and abilities to cultivate strength, mobility, alignment, coordination, and greater ease in movement. Her approach integrates breath, imagery, biomechanics, and whole-body awareness, creating sessions that are both precise and deeply individualized.

Her broader movement work explores what becomes possible when we move beyond familiar patterns and begin listening more deeply. Through the Zero State Method, Océane uses sensation, breath, rhythm, improvisation, imagery, and creative disruption to invite greater presence, freedom, creativity, and authentic expression.

Whether through Pilates, workshops, retreats, or embodied movement experiences, her work moves between structure and freedom, effort and ease, precision and play—helping people develop a more responsive, connected, and trusting relationship with their bodies.
