My work explores the body as a place of memory, instinct, transformation, and possibility. I am interested in what lies beneath our familiar identities—the gestures, impulses, archetypes, and inner landscapes that emerge when we become quiet enough to listen.
Coming from a lifelong background in dance, I experience the body not as a fixed form, but as something continually becoming. Movement has taught me to pay attention to weight, tension, rhythm, relationship, and the spaces between one action and the next. In sculpture, I explore these same questions through material and form: how can something still hold movement? How can the physical contain something ephemeral?
Body language and gesture have always been central to the way I understand communication and relationship. My figures often emerge somewhere between the recognizable and the strange, allowing imperfection, humor, vulnerability, and distortion to reveal something more human. I am drawn to the unexpected—the glitch in a gesture or form that disrupts what is familiar and opens another way of seeing.
I first discovered my desire to sculpt while modeling for artists at the New York Studio School. I later moved to Paris to study sculpture and reconnect with my European roots. Years of traveling internationally as a dancer deepened my fascination with the ways movement, music, ritual, myth, and storytelling give form to our inner and collective lives.
My creative process is influenced by dreams, mythology, nature, meditation, altered perspectives, and lived experience. I am especially interested in thresholds: between conscious and unconscious, human and animal, strength and vulnerability, stillness and movement, the ordinary and the mythic.
Whether I am working with movement or clay, I return to the same inquiry: what appears when we loosen our attachment to what we already know?
Sculpture allows me to give physical form to something that begins as sensation, image, or intuition—to make the ephemeral tangible while leaving enough mystery for the form to continue speaking.
